MARCH 2019 - Jacto DJB-20S knapsack battery sprayer and doser has won the 5th Afubra / Nimeq Award for Technological Innovation in Agricultural Machines for Family Agriculture, in the company category.
The award is promoted by the Tobacco Growers Association of Brazil (Afubra) along with the Innovation Center in Agricultural Machinery and Equipment of the Federal University of Pelotas (Nimeq / Ufpel) which has a partnership with the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (Unisc).
The recognition trophy was received by Márcio Fantim, Jacto Portable Product Unit Commercial Coordinator Brazil on the last day of Expoagro Afubra, held from March 26 to 28 in Rio Pardo/RS.
The judging committee analyzed among the nine competitors to the prize in the industry category, the product that best satisfied the requirements: novelty in manufacturing, whether as technological innovation or improvement, its environment preservation contribution and being aimed at family agriculture.
“This prize acknowledges the effort of an entire team who designed Jacto DJB-20S, who developed all the technologies that could be embedded, who thought how each part would work; of the countless people who performed tests in the field and sought even more efficiency in each detail of the equipment; of the logistics, marketing and commercial teams who, above all, listened to rural producers and their actual needs to offer the market a cutting-edge and economically accessible technology” affirms Márcio Fantim.
Jacto DJB-20S is the first knapsack battery sprayer and doser in the world that can be connected via Bluetooth and market a cutting-edge technology controlled on a mobile phone or tablet.
“Through a mobile phone, the operator can configure the entire operation, standardize dosages, pressure and flow rate of the product to be sprayed; he can also select the application speed considering plant spacing. At the end of the application, a report with application data similar to the management reports offered in the large machines is generated”, explains Iago Reis de Oliveira, Jacto Product Expert, Portable Product Unit.
The knapsack sprayer used mainly in crops such as tobacco, coffee, vegetables, banana, application of herbicides in industrial crops such as eucalyptus, pine and sugarcane, among others can communicate with a mobile device through an application.
Jacto DJB-20S highlights and features
Jacto DJB-20S meets the expectations of rural producers seeking technology and application accuracy.
Using the dosing function as nozzle, a controlled dosage of the product can be applied directly on the target. In addition, the desired target dosage can be calibrated accurately to one decimal place through an application on a mobile phone for greater uniformity of droplet coverage.
This calibration can be configured via a mobile phone for more than one machine to streamline and standardize the work process. In the timed dosing mode, Jacto DJB-20S features an exclusive system that applies 5- to 300-ml dosages in 5 intervals of time – depending on plant spacing and time to travel between the plants, the operator chooses the best time interval.
Just leave the trigger on and the equipment automatically dispenses the chosen dosage automatically. Whereas in the dosing function for localized application, Jacto DJB-20S features an electronic trigger directly connected to the hydraulic pump that dispenses the desired dosage only when activated. This function is usually used for heterogeneous spacing such as in applications in banana cultivation, where there is shoot sprouting and the distance between the plants varies.
In the sprayer mode, however, besides the four different spray nozzles supplied with the equipment, spraying can be adjusted at 5 pressure level constants making the area coverage more uniform and with less drift. Jacto DJB-20S also features a step indicator, a system that helps control the operator’s walking speed so application uniformity is ensured.
The rhythm of the steps is controlled via a beep and they can be adjusted at 1 to 4 km/h.
Jacto DJB-20S is powered by long-life Lithium-ion battery. Light and removable, it can be quickly recharged taking only the battery close to the power socket. The battery time life allows long working hours as for example applying more than 10,000 dosages or spraying more than 200 liters.
With greater comfort and safety, the operator does not have to pump and can, therefore, concentrate on locating the targets and applying more precisely.
Jacto DJB-20S shows on its LCD control panel, the equipment name, battery charge indicator, working pressure and desired dosage, for example. The equipment can be controlled on the panel without using a mobile phone.
The hours worked since the equipment was purchased is recorded in the application interface making scheduling maintenances and the 3-year warranty easier.
